Land Monetization 101

Howdy Friends!

Are you busy buying land and thinking about how you can use it to make a little extra money? Or maybe you have a few extra acres and you aren’t quite sure how to use them best?

One of these land monetization options might just appeal to you!

Land monetization is a way to use your property to make money and supplement your income. There are a variety of ways to do this, and we are going to take a look at just a few of them.

AirBnB

Now, an AirBnB is a fairly new method for land monetization that people are finding great success with. Through AirBnB, you can offer a place on your property for people to come and rent. These are usually short-term rentals and the more amenities you offer, the more likely you are to keep a booked space. If your land includes a pond or a creek, you may consider building a nice tiny home or small cottage with a pretty view. People want to escape life and come to the country for rest and relaxation. Why not offer this to them?

AirBnB spots are not limited to houses. You can list a small cabin or an RV or a travel trailer. Get creative! You could even offer a treehouse rental. The more unique you are with your design and concept, the more likely people will want to come and stay. Your guests will enjoy the peaceful setting away from the city. Unique rentals that are quiet and filled with nature are extremely popular.

Hunting Club

Maybe you have several acres of extra land that you don’t want just sitting there when it offers some of the best hunting around. Have you considered using this land for the purpose of creating a hunting club? If you are an avid hunter, you probably can’t resist the thought of finding that perfect buck! Why not open up your land for others to join you?

Perhaps you don’t want to tend food plots and create trails. If that’s the case, you could lease the land to hunting clubs to use. Be sure to lease out just what you want and establish the boundaries well. Hunters will pay to use the land and you get a little extra jingle in your pocket. You can make the lease short-term so that you aren’t tied to it for too long, in case you decide you want to use the land for other purposes later on.

Growing Crops

We all know you can grow and sell your own garden crops. But, if you don’t have a green thumb, you may not have any interest in farming. In this case, there are plenty of other people who do. Would you be willing to lease your land for a bit of time to allow farmers to grow and harvest their crops? This is a great way to purpose your land in a way that allows you to earn some money by leasing it out.
